Accepting New Patients Today
We are excited to announce that The Health Lounge will be opening on a phased return from 27th May. We have been busy working behind the scenes in order to ensure the safe practice of our clinic upon our return. This work has included formulation of risk assessments, hygiene policies, procurement of adequate PPE and adaptations to the premises and how we will operate moving forward. We understand that many people have been struggling without our face to face services and we are pleased to now be in a position where we can safely welcome clients back into the clinic.
During our phased return we will only be offering services to those with a symptomatic or urgent need and there will be certain groups of people that we would encourage to wait slightly longer before booking an appointment (further information below).
OUR DECISION TO REOPEN
We have followed guidance from the United Chiropractic Association (UCA), The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and Government Guidelines to inform our decision to reopen and how we intend to operate moving forward
The GCC states on their website (13/05/20):
“The GCC is continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and the latest Government advice and guidance and encourages chiropractors to remain up to date with all public health statements. In the Government legislation, issued to date across the UK, there is no prohibition on chiropractic clinics continuing to remain open to provide care for patients."
"The UCA, MCA and SCA have collectively issued a statement to their members advising that once deemed safe, following a risk assessment, any return to face to face care, based on need, should be restricted to non vulnerable groups, and to not see the clinically vulnerable and extremely vulnerable groups in the meantime."

PRECAUTIONS WE ARE TAKING TO KEEP YOU SAFE
It is our duty of care to ensure that we are compliant with Public Health England and their requirements, which include maintaining social distancing, adequate PPE and appropriate hygiene procedures. Despite our precautions, there is always a possible risk of human-to human transmissions of the Coronavirus. Whilst we have considered at length the reasonable precautions we need to take in order to operate safely, we cannot 100% guarantee that we are able to eliminate the risk of transmission.
Clients will be attending at their own risk and in order to make an informed decision, our Risk Assessment and Covid-19 precautionary procedures can be found on our website.
WHO CAN ATTEND AN APPOINTMENT
During our phased return we will be offering appointments to those with a symptomatic or urgent need. If you are asymptomatic (without symptoms) or fall into one of the at risk categories below we would politely ask you to wait a bit longer before booking a face to face appointment (we will update you as to when you can book once we receive further guidance).
You are seen to be ‘At risk’, as defined by Public Health England, if you are:
– Over 70
– Have a long term health condition
– Have a weakened immune system
If you do fall into one of the above categories and you are in need of urgent care, please email us (email@example.com) and we will call you or offer you a video consultation. If your symptoms are severe and you require face to face treatment, we will talk through the options available to you, the extra precautions we will take and the potential risk involved.

It is with great regret that after a thriving start to opening our practice we are now having to temporarily close as of this evening.
We all now need to focus on protecting those in our families and our communities from the Coronavirus. We hope this closure will not be for long. Rest assured that when we re-open, we will be more committed than ever to delivering the highest standards in excellence of care to our patients.
Until that time, please check our website and social media regularly for updates.
Thank you for welcoming us into the community.
Natalie will be available via telephone or skype to support anyone who is struggling with isolation or their Mental Health. Dr Tom will be available via telephone or email if you are in an emergency or very acute condition.
Please stay safe and well during this difficult time.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
