Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) enables you to become aware of how your thoughts and behaviours affect how you feel. Here at The Health Lounge we will help to equip you with a set of tools you can use for the rest of your life to manage any psychological distress. Our mission is to enable you to become your own therapist. This will involve pro-actively intercepting unhelpful behavioural and cognitive habits, whilst working towards implementing new healthier ways of living that will help you now and in the future.

Here at The Health Lounge in Cranleigh, we provide comprehensive psychological therapy, delivered by experienced clinicians who are accredited with either BABCP, BACP or HCPC. We use evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition to this, we also draw upon third waves approaches to CBT, which include Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).

CBT is our preferred method of therapy given its evidence base and effectiveness. However, we realise that not everyone will be suited to CBT and therefore, we do offer alternative types of therapy such as person centred and psychodynamic counselling. If you have a preference, do let us know.
